Process for producing manganese compound from material comprising potassium and manganese

The present invention relates to a method for producing a high purity manganese compound from a material containing low purity manganese. The method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: obtaining a first manganese leachate by adding hydrochloric acid and a reducing agent in a material containing low purity manganese and by leaching manganese; obtaining a second leachate, from which first impurities are removed, by using potassium hydroxide in the first manganese leachate; obtaining a third manganese leachate, from which second impurities are removed, by adding sulfides in the second manganese leachate; and producing high purity manganese sulfate monohydrate by adding sulfuric acid in manganese oxide obtained by precipitating manganese in the third manganese leachate using potassium hydroxide.
