The present invention relates to a device which is able to obtain functional images with high contrast using terahertz electric waves. Provided is a functional imaging technology apparatus which includes: a wave cutting device which cuts optical pulses; a terahertz generating device which generates terahertz wave pulses with the optical pulses that are cut; and a terahertz detector which projects or reflects terahertz wave pulses into an object a user wants to have an image of and detects functional images of the frequency characteristics of the object.
