The present invention relates to a method for reinforcing the seismic durability of a structure. The method can enhance the performance of a building enduring an earthquake by installing a damper fixing apparatus and a horizontal shape retaining damper on the exterior or interior of a structure. The horizontal shape retaining damper includes: a core unit which has a firing unit formed by narrowing the width of both ends; a connection plate which is a fixation angle plate formed on the end of the core unit; a bonding plate which connects a center jig, a damper frame, and a connection opening of the core unit; and a pressing and reinforcing plate which is installed on the core unit to touch the upper part, lower part, and both side surfaces of the core unit.
