The present invention relates to a microbial fuel cell for generating hydrogen and metal nanoparticles, and a method for manufacturing the same. The microbial fuel cell according to the present invention is capable of producing single crystalline metal nanoparticles having various shapes, and, by using the metal nanoparticles as catalysts, hydrogen can be produced without supply of external power source and oxygen.
