The present invention relates to a control method for a low voltage DC/DC converter for an electric vehicle to efficiently charge a low voltage battery and a system for controlling the low voltage DC/DC converter using the method. The control method for the low voltage DC/DC converter for the electric vehicle comprises the following steps: sensing information on a low voltage battery during parking every first cycle when the electric vehicle is parked; and controlling the low voltage DC/DC converter to charge the low voltage battery for a predetermined time if there is an error in a battery sensor to sense the information on the low voltage battery during parking, determining a charging time to charge the low voltage battery according to a first state of charge (SOC) value among the sensed information on the low voltage battery every first cycle if the battery sensor is normal, and controlling the low voltage DC/DC converter so that the low voltage battery can be charged for the determined charging time. According to the present invention, control of the low voltage DC/DC converter is performed according to a state of the low voltage battery through feedback control using the information on the low voltage battery sensor. Thus, it is possible to increase the mileage per one-time charging of the electric vehicle and improve the durability of the low voltage battery.
