The present invention relates to a composition comprising a red ginseng extract as an active ingredient for delaying, preventing, and treating age-related macular degeneration and, more specifically, to a composition comprising a red ginseng extract, which normalizes the function of the Bruchs membrane of an eye, as an active ingredient for delaying, preventing, and treating age-related macular degeneration. The composition of the present invention removes substances deposited on the Bruchs membrane and improves the transport function of the Bruchs membrane so that the Bruchs membrane may be regenerated through cell reactions in retinal pigment epithelium (RPE).
