The present invention relates to a power conversion device for driving an LED for illumination, which requires the minimum cost. A load side reduces voltages and a current peak value and thus, switching loss is reduced and flickering is minimized. A power factor is optimized by controlling input voltages and currents to have approximately the same phase. An electrolytic capacitor is eliminated and thus, the life span of the power supply device can be extended. A small capacity used for a filter is replaced by a film capacitor and thus, currents on the load side are stabilized. Consequently, the power supply device for driving an LED for illumination is optimized, thereby extending the life span of the power supply device and minimizing costs for the power supply device.
