The present invention relates to a method to manufacture a thermal barrier coating layer through suspension plasma spray. More specifically, the method to manufacture the thermal barrier coating layer through the suspension plasma spraying includes the steps of: (a) preparing nanosuspension having nanooxide particles for the thermal barrier coating dispersed in the suspension; and (b) forming the coating layer on a preform through the suspension plasma spray using the nanosuspension. In the method of preparing the thermal barrier coating layer through high-suspension plasma spray in accordance to the present invention, the thermal barrier coating layer is formed through the suspension plasma spray using the nanosuspension including oxide particles pulverized in the form of a nanosize through a high-energy milling process or alloyed complex oxide particles, thereby creating a plurality of micropores in the corresponding coating layer and creating a vertical crack, such that the thermal conductivity of the coating layer and the strain compliance in a horizontal direction can be improved. Furthermore, when rare-earth oxide and zirconia are used as raw materials, a coating layer including a rare earth oxide zirconate having a pycrochlore crystal structure representing low thermal conductivity and high-temperature stability can be formed without a high-costing process such as a hot-press sintering process.
