A method of estimating the difference in the reception timing of radio signals comprising receiving a signal at two spaced receiving locations, digitizing the voltage outputted from the antenna signal detection, at each receiving point, wherein the algorithm estimates reception timing difference comprising the echo delay estimate as direct at each receiving point assessment reception timing difference of the reflected signals, calculating reception timing differences as the direct signal delay amount between the direct and reflected signal at the first receiving point and the delay between the reflected signals in the first and second receiving points, minus the delay between the direct and reflected signals at the second receiving step.
