A process for coating a carbon film by vacuum laser ablation, evaporation of a graphite target comprising a solid state laser, followed by deposition of amorphous diamond coating on a substrate, characterized in that the laser based on Nd: YAG having a wavelength of 532 nm, with a power of 15-25 J. and with an output energy of the laser pulse 80-160 mJ, deposition time is 10-40 minutes, the substrate is located at a distance of 10-25 cm from the target at an angle of 15-45 °, the pressure in the reaction chamber 6 × 10Pa.2. A method according to claim 1, wherein the target is made of graphite piroleticheskogo grafita.3. The method of claim 1, wherein the substrate is surgical scalpel blade, which is made of high carbon steel or stainless stali.4. A method according to claim 1, wherein the repetition frequency of the laser radiation pulses of 50 Hz, a pulse duration 15-10s.5. The surgical scalpel with an amorphous diamond-like coating made by the method of claims 1-4, characterized by the following parameters: Raman spectra with characteristic peaks in the localized region 1600 and 1355 cm, and the average roughness of not more than 60 nm.
