FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to molecular pharmacology and particularly to a peptide which is an interleukin-15 (IL-15) sequence derivative which is optimised for inhibiting biological activity of said compound. The invention shows that when bound with an alpha subunit of the receptor (IL-15Rα) the peptide inhibits T cell proliferation induced by IL-15, tumour necrosis factor α (TNFα) induction caused by IL-15, and expression of IL-8 and IL-6 caused by IL-15Rα.
