FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, specifically to hand surgery. After a tongue-shaped skin flap is cut out at the base of an index finger, a distal portion of a second metacarpal bone is resected, while an epiphysis is separated, and the residuals of the metacarpal bone is displaced into an abduction position and back opposition of the thumb hypoplasia, a longitudinal incision is performed from its base to a nail plate to be circularly incised. An apex of the tongue-shaped skin flap is connected to the base of the thumb with the use of the linear incision. The incision extends from the base onto a palmar surface of the thumb. A thumb bone is separated and removed to form a dermal-fat flap. The dermal-fat flap is used to cover the wound in the area of the base of the first beam thereby creating a reserve of the soft tissues. The excessive flap is de-epidermised and wrapped into the wound within the ball of the thumb to be formed.;EFFECT: method improved the function of the double grip and cosmetic effect ensured by the single-step formation of the ball of the thumb.;1 ex, 5 dwg
