FIELD: measurement equipment.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of seismology and may be used to forecast possibility of earthquakes within collision zones of continents. Substance: on the basis of monitoring of many years they determine content of the following pollutants in the near-surface atmosphere: dust, carbon, nitrogen and sulphur oxides. If the annual summary content of the specified pollutants increases in the near-surface atmosphere by more than 20% compared to the average annual value produced during the period of the completed monitoring, the conclusion is made on the possibility of earthquake occurrence.;EFFECT: forecasting of possibility of earthquakes within collision zones of continents.;2 cl
