METHOD OF PRENATAL PREDICTION OF PATHOLOGICAL COURSE OF MINI-PUBERTY IN BOYS

FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: in the process of ultrasound examination a volume of testes of a male foetus at the gestation term of 32-34 weeks is determined by formula: volume (ml) = 0.523 *length (mm) * width² (mm²). The length of a testis is determined in a standard projection, in which a hyperechogenic band of the mediastinum testis is located in the centre of the image. Perpendicular to the centre of thus obtained long axis a short axis is measured as the testis width. If the value of the testis volume parameter is less than 0.28 ml, pathological treatment of mini-puberty in boys is predicted.;EFFECT: method makes it possible to put children who need more careful observation, further examination and probably, correction of the endocrinological status into a separate group.;2 tbl, 2 ex
