FIELD: machine building.;SUBSTANCE: cutting of gears is started from activation of cutting head revolution and rolling feed motion. Prior to shaping the tooth involute profile, the workpiece performs radial primary motion to form modified profile at tooth top crest. Then, workpiece is withdrawn to initial position to form nominal involute tooth profile. To make modified profile in the area of transition curve, workpiece performs radial primary motion. Similarly, sections of modified profile in the area of transition curve of adjacent tooth and at top crest are formed.;EFFECT: enhanced performances.;4 dwg
