METHOD FOR ASSESSING RISK OF CARDIOVASCULAR COMPLICATIONS IN POSTMENOPAUSAL FEMALES

FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: female is examined for: total cholesterol, mmole/l, systolic blood pressure (BP), mm Hg, smoking status, age (years), sex. The derived data are used to evaluate a ten-year risk of cardiovascular mortality according to SCORE table. Besides, an aortic pulse wave velocity (aoPWV), m/s is determined. A regression equation is used to scale an age norm of aoPWV: Y=3.713+0.042*x, wherein x is age, years old. The examined female is considered to suffer a high risk at total risk of more than 5% according to SCORE table with the aoPWV more than the age norm, or at total risk of less than 5% according to SCORE table (a group of a moderate and low risk) with the aoPWV more than the age norm.;EFFECT: method enables evaluating the risk of cardiovascular complications in postmenopausal females.;3 dwg
