FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: lustre of a horse is determined using an apparatus which includes at least a) a monochromatic or integrated emitter, a silicon photodetector with blue sensitivity in the 0.45 mcm range (0.12 A/W), green sensitivity in the 0.55 mcm range (0.23-0.3 A/W), red sensitivity in the 0.65 mcm range (0.4 A/W), and the possibility of adjusting the angle of incidence or reflection of the light signal, b) a supply element, c) an indicator of voltage across the photodetector, or a conversion table of the light signal received at the photodetector, d) a housing. A method of determining lustre of horses using said apparatus is also disclosed.;EFFECT: conducting inspection on-site, analysis results can be used to determine if a horse meets standards required for a given breed.;2 cl, 1 dwg
