A Kardierelement formed as a Festkardierelement (23) or as a flat bar of a revolving lid of a carding machine has end portions which are designed for attachment to the frame of a card, and an elongated support member between the end portions for covering the drum of the card. The support element comprises at least two plate-shaped parts, namely a carrier (24) and a stiffening element (28), wherein the carrier (24) is provided with a fastening surface directed in the direction of the drum in operation, to which a clothing strip (27) is attached, and wherein the stiffening element (28) is disposed on the surface of the carrier (24) facing away from the drum in operation. Carrier (24) and stiffening element (28) are interconnected. The carrier is designed as a solid carrier plate (24) without cavities and the stiffening element as a web (28). The carrier plate (24) consists of a material which has a high heat capacity and a high thermal conductivity relative to the material of which the web (28) consists, and the web (28) is frictionally or thermally insulated with the carrier plate (24 ) connected. Or the support plate (24) and the web (28) are made of a material having a high heat capacity and a high thermal conductivity, wherein at the junction of carrier plate (24) and web (28) has a heat-insulating layer between the support plate (24) and the web (28) is arranged to prevent heat from passing from the carrier plate (24) into the web (28).
