A coaxial geothermal probe (10) is described, which has a central core tube (11), preferably provided with a thermally insulating jacket, and a cladding tube which delimits an annular gap (15) extending radially outward from the core tube (11) the core tube (11) and the annular gap (15) are designed for throughflow with a flowable heat transfer medium. The cladding tube is formed by a hose-like expandable sheath (14), which immediately adjoins a wall (2) of a borehole heat exchanger bore (1) in the installed state of the probe.
