Melting and evaporating lignin-, cellulose-, and/or carbonaceous material streams, comprises forming a closed and interconnected unit with a drier, a filling device, a pyrolysis reactor and conducting heat and electricity together with material flow in moderately energetic manner introducing the combustion gases through a wet product-inlet, and discharging of the solids using hot gases and the wet steam. An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the above mentioned method, where material transport takes place in the reactor by a conveyor from screw paddle, which extends over the entire pitch length of the heated evaporation reactor.
