The method involves subjecting sound source and/or a surrounding medium to generate the sound. An electromagnetic field is transmitted from a transmitting device, in the range of 0.1-12 kHz. A frequency memory (1) is connected to a voltage source (5) e.g. battery, and is connected to a transmitting antenna (3) e.g. transmitter coil, through an amplifier (2). The frequency memory, voltage source, transmitting antenna, control unit (4) and amplifier are arranged in the housing (6). An independent claim is included for a device for reducing noise.
