The invention relates to a turbomachine provided with a dry seal assembly (30) comprising a seal having a stationary part (40) and a rotatable portion (38); a space (44) disposed between the stationary and rotating parts; a biasing member disposed adjacent the stationary part (40) and in contact therewith to apply a force to the stationary part; and a labyrinth (37) close to the rotating part (38) and constructed and arranged to receive a liquid to be vaporized before entering the space between the stationary and rotary parts of the seal.
