The method involves detecting a pressure of a liquid fuel using a pressure sensor, and detecting viscosity of the liquid fuel using a viscosity sensor, where the fuel is utilized with fossil and regenerating raw materials. The pressure and the viscosity of the fuel are influenced under consideration of the detected pressure and the detected viscosity. Temperature and permittivity of the fuel are detected using temperature and permittivity sensors, respectively. Composition and/or quality of the fuel are determined based on the viscosity and the permittivity of the fuel. The fossil raw material is petroleum-based raw material, and the regenerating raw material is bio-oil and/or vegetable oil. An independent claim is also included for a device for regulating combustion of a liquid fuel in a heat generator.
