The device comprises jaws (2.1-2.8) that are enclosed in external periphery-side from housing (3) for an annular component. The jaws are moved away from each other by using a drive unit (4) in radial direction. Three jaws are distributed evenly in circumferential direction (6) and are moved by the drive unit in the center (7) such that three jaws are enclosed in external periphery-side. The jaws are made of metallic or polymeric material. A cone-shaped mandrel (10) is provided for movement of the jaws in axial direction and is made of PTFE. An independent claim is included for method for determining radial force of annular component.
