The bag (10) has a tubular protective device (20) made of a flexible fabric web and arranged in an interior part (18) of the bag. The protective device surrounds a gas generator (14) and protects the bag against direct flowing gas leaking out from the gas generator. The fabric web is completely wrapped around the gas generator in a circumferential direction (U), where a peripheral end (30) of the fabric is fastened at the fabric web. Multiple fabric layers (32) are arranged on one above the other over entire circumference of the protective device.
