The undercarriage cladding unit (12,18) has an opening that is closed by a closure element (24). An elastic portion (20) is located below a motor vehicle (10) in a vertical direction of a lowermost exhaust pipe (22) of an exhaust portion (14). The opening and the closure element are provided in the elastic portion. Multiple openings are lockable by lamellar bars of the closure element. The closure element consists of elastic and heat-resistant material, particularly spring steel.
