The component has a functional element with a fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) composite component part (1) and a metal part (2), which are positively connected with one another. Plastic exposed fibers (1.1) of the composite component part are embedded in a metal matrix, where the plastic exposed fibers are selected from glass fibers, polymeric fibers, ceramic fibers and/or carbon fibers. The metal part is provided over a surface of the composite component part. The metal part comprises an electrical conductive element at the surface of the composite component part. The functional element is designed as a holding element, hook, hinge, reinforcement element, latch and a bolt. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a composite component.
