Material based on silicate comprises 55-75 wt.% silicon dioxide, 5-25 wt.% calcium oxide, 2-12 wt.% sodium oxide, 1-11 wt.% potassium oxide, and 1-10 wt.% aluminum oxide, each based on oxides. Independent claims are also included for: (1) preparing the material, comprising (a) preparing a melt with the above mentioned composition, (b) cooling the melt to room temperature to form a colorless, transparent glass, (c) reheating the glass to nucleation and crystallization, and (d) cooling the obtained polycrystalline structure to room temperature; and (2) an artificial stone or plate comprising a material.
