The extender has a battery placed on a trailer attached and suspended if necessary. The battery is connected with a powertrain of an electric car by a plug-in high current cable (A) in a switchable manner. A traction electric circuit is connected at a rear of the electric car over a coupling, where the extender is switched on by a key switch (S1) e.g. MOSFET, instead of a disconnectable vehicle-own traction battery at the power train of the electric car. The switch is connected on a side of the extender by a relay (k4). The relay is connected with a time delay circuit. An independent claim is also included for an installation kit.
