Security paper comprises particulate security elements, which are marked with DNA-single strands of defined sequence. Independent claims are included for: (1) the particulate security elements for the production of security paper, where the particulate security elements are marked with DNA-single strands of defined sequence; and (2) producing the security paper, comprising adding a pulp prior to introduction into a paper machine of the particulate security elements, which are marked with the DNA single strands of defined sequence.
