The method involves forming web layer (20) containing three support webs (21-23) made of combustible material. The first and second channels (31,32) intended for the formation of fluid flow channels and permeate fluid channels respectively, are formed between respective support webs and extended between end faces (24,25) of web layer. The second channels and support web (23) are closed between two end faces of web layer by a ceramic adhesive. The web layer is wound around a ceramic material impregnated bobbin (30) which is burned and sintered to form ceramic filter element. An independent claim is included for ceramic filter element.
