The unit (1) has textile fabric (3) with a pocket-like retainer for Bowden cable overlengths (2) i.e. Bowden cable loops (13). The textile fabric is folded for forming the retainer so that a region (4) and another region of the textile fabric are arranged parallel to a main extension plane (100) of the unit. The regions are connected with each other by a strip-like detachable fastening unit (7) e.g. clamp. The fastening unit is extended along an edge side (9) of the unit. An inlet opening (10) and an outlet opening (11) are arranged on two opposite end sides of a fold (6). An independent claim is also included for a vehicle seat.
