The chair (1) has an upper back portion (8) which is rotated relative to lower back portion (9) and upper chair portion (3). The rotating surface (4) at bottom side of upper chair portion is rotated on rotating surface at top face of lower chair portion. The coupling mechanisms (12-14) convert pivot movement of upper chair portion relative to lower chair portion into synchronous pivot movement of upper back portion, lower back portion, and seat surface (10) relative to upper chair portion, respectively.
