The device has multiple black-out elements (9, 10) for adjusting attenuation of incident outside light from an outer side into a vehicle inner space (1) or into a portion. A light sensor (16) i.e. direction-sensitive light sensor, determines an actual value (H1) of space lightness (H) of the vehicle interior or the portion. A control unit (13) controls the actual value of the space lightness by differently setting the black-out elements to a reference value (HS). The sensor detects a lighting direction of the outside light.
