The unit (10) has a shell part (1) including a meander-like profile that forms a channel (4) between the shell part and another shell part (2) for a fluid in a connected state of the shell parts. Each shell part includes an inflow opening (5) and a discharge opening (6), where the channel extends between the inflow opening and the discharge opening. The shell parts are made of plastic. The shell parts are connected such that the fluid flows through the unit along the channel. A height of the channel is smaller than 2 mm, preferably 1 mm, preferably 0.5 mm. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a heat exchanger (2) a method for manufacturing a heat exchanger.
