Marking polymeric materials with fluorescence organic nanoparticles for their unique identification, for their sorting, for recycling purposes, by sorting machine using fluorescence. Independent claims are included for: (1) use of perylenetetracarboxdiimides of formula (I) for the production of fluorescent nanoparticles and for fluorescence encoding macromolecular substances to their unique identification; (2) use of terylenetetracarboxydiimides of formula (II) for the production of fluorescent nanoparticles and for fluorescence encoding; and (3) use of perylenecarboxylicacid derivatives of formula (III), (IV) and (V) for the production of fluorescent nanoparticles and for fluorescence encoding. R1-R10 : vinyl, H or linear 37C-alkyl; and R11-R14 : vinyl, where one of 10 CH 2 units are replaced by carbonyl groups, oxygen atoms, sulfur atoms, selenium atoms, tellurium atoms or cis-or trans-CH=CH-groups, a CH-unit is replaced by nitrogen atom, acetylenic-CC-groups, 1,2-, 1,3- or 1,4-substituted phenyl radicals, 2,3-, 2,4-, 2,5-, 2,6-, 3,4- or 3,5-disubstituted pyridine groups, 2,3-, 2,4-, 2,5- or 3,4-disubstituted thiophene or 1,2-, 1,3-, 1,4-, 1,5-, 1,6-, 1,7-, 1,8-, 2,3-, 2,6- or 2,7-disubstituted naphthalene, one or two CH groups are replaced by nitrogen atoms, 1,2-, 1,3-, 1,4-, 1,5-, 1,6-, 1,7-, 1,8-, 1,9-, 1,10-, 2,3-, 2,6-, 2,7-, 2,9-, 2,10- or 9,10-disubstituted anthracene, 12 hydrogen atoms of the CH 2 groups are replaced by fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, cyano group or linear 18C-alkyl, 1-6 CH 2-units are replaced by carbonyl groups, oxygen atoms, sulfur atoms, selenium atoms, tellurium atoms or cis-or trans-CH = CH-groups, one or two carbon atoms are replaced by nitrogen atoms, 1,2-, 1,3-, 1,4-, 1,5-, 1,6-, 1,7-, 1,8-, 1,9-, 1,10-, 2,3-, 2,6-, 2,7-, 2,9-, 2,10- or 9,10-disubstituted anthracene.
