The expansion bolt (12) has a dowel part (16) and a plug-in part (36) which is inserted in a receiving opening (32) of the dowel part for fixing the dowel part to a bodyshell portion (14). The dowel part has a spacer (18), by which an attachment part (10) is fixed at a distance (a) to the bodyshell portion. The spacer has a support surface (26) for supporting on the bodyshell portion and another support surface (28) for supporting to the attachment part. An independent claim is included for a method for fastening an attachment part to a bodyshell portion.
