The arrangement has a free weight workout station (1) provided with an electronic unit (5). The electronic unit comprises an input or output device (13) in a form of a display (15) or a touchscreen (15'). Weights i.e. dumbbells or barbells, are associated with an optical and/or acoustic display. The weights are provided with an acceleration sensor that is attached to an exercise concerned person to detect a movement in operation. Data collected from the sensor is stored in the electronic unit that is integrated with an external electronics and/or a memory device or integrated with weights.
