The cap (20) has a cap body (21) provided with an attachment unit i.e. projection unit (25), for fixing the cap on a catheter connecting piece (10). A sealing membrane (22) comprises an aperture (23) for receiving a medical instrument. A valve body (24) seals the aperture of the membrane and is movable in the cap body. The membrane tapers towards a concentric region around the aperture. The valve body comprises a sealing area, where a contour of the sealing area corresponds to aperture contour. The membrane and the attachment unit are arranged at two ends of the cap body, respectively. The valve body is designed as a part of a non-return valve. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a cap for a catheter connecting piece.
