The refrigerator- or freezing appliance (10) has an electrical consumer, which particularly has one compressor (40) or is formed by the compressor. A power generator (20) is provided, which is connected or connectable to the electric consumer, such that the consumer is supplied with electricity from the power generator. The generator is designed such that it is operable with petrol, gas, diesel or a gasoline mixture.
