The interface device (1) has a unit (10) mounted on a rotational axis (10a), which comprises functional surfaces (11,12,13) formed as interface. The functional surfaces are displaced from a passive position into an active position by a rotation of the unit about the rotational axis. The functional surfaces are visible in the active position for the occupants and are used as interface. The interface device comprises a guide (20), over which the rotational axis of the unit is translationally displaced. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a vehicle with a dashboard; and (2) a method for positioning an unit of an interface device.
