The device (10a) has a reinforcing outer profile (14a) for enclosing a support section (12a) in a mounted state. A bearing unit (16a) is arranged between the support section and the reinforcing outer profile in the mounted state. The reinforcing outer profile comprises a recess through which a portion of the bearing unit protrudes in the mounted state. An intermediate section is arranged between the support section and the reinforcing outer profile. The reinforcing outer profile is mechanically deformed in an outwardly-shaped portion (28a). The support section is made of CFRP. An independent claim is also included for a mounting process for a seat support device.
