The wheel module (10) has an airbag module (14) mounted at a steering wheel (12) and comprising an airbag (18) that is located in an airbag housing (16), where the airbag is provided with an airbag covering (20). The airbag module is mounted on a horn plate (22). The horn plate is designed such that a regular interval is made between the airbag module and the steering wheel. The horn plate is made of a molding material e.g. thermosetting polymer and plastic material such as thermoplastic material, by reforming process i.e. casting process. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a steering wheel module.
