The manufacturing method involves forming heat exchanger plates (1), to which a collecting container (3) or another component is mounted and which is soldered in a soldering furnace. A two piece tube (2) is added to connect a plate stack (10) to the collecting container or another component prior to soldering. Two pipe ends are pushed into each other, after a single soldering operation is carried out in the soldering furnace, where the setting movements are compensated by relative displacement of the pipe ends. An independent claim is included for a soldered plate heat exchanger.
