The umbrella has a stand base (1), stand pipe (2) and a radially and/or axially adjustable connecting piece (4) for connecting smoke pipes (12) or fume hoods (6). The stand pipe is designed as a stand and fulfills the function of a smoke and/or steam exhaust pipe (9). The exhaust pipe has an opening for draining collected condensed and/or rain water. An axially-movable plug-on sheet steel hood (8) is arranged on the stand pipe and provided for ventilation and/or heat regulation of an area located below the umbrella. Transverse bores (11) are formed at an outer end of a roof ledge (10).
