The device has an electrical propelled motor (6) secured at a wrapped tube carrier (9) at which a wrapped tube (5) is rotatably supported. The resilient traction cables (13) are wound on a guide device (8) that is pivotally supported at a front wall (7) of a loading tray (1). An unreeled roll tarpaulin (2) is pulled and downward stressed held over an upper edge (10) of long side (11) of the loading tray. A clutch is rigidly connected with the wrapped tube and a non-rotatably secured stator of the motor in a motor pipe that is rigidly secured at the wrapped tube carrier.
