The method involves calculating a maximum power point (MPP)-total current of a total solar module area by integration from a sum of determined local prevailing MPP-current densities. The MPP-total current divided by a number of segments i.e. cell strips (2), is determined as a target value for the densities. Each segment whose area is determined by a structuring step, is generated. A total area of a solar module (1) is structured by the step so that a breadth of each segment is locally adjusted for generating a current, which corresponds to a target value of the solar module, by each segment. An independent claim is also included for a solar module.
