The method involves detecting a position of a hand (2) and a movement of the hand, where the movement is a rotating movement, where the hand is connected to a lower arm (1). The detected position and the rotating movement are evaluated for controlling an electrical device. An alignment of the hand is detected and evaluated based on a center longitudinal axis (M) of the lower arm, where the electrical device is controlled based on the rotational movement of the hand by an angle of 20 degrees around the central longitudinal axis of the lower arm. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a control device for controlling an electrical device to control a function of a vehicle by detecting and evaluating a contactless manual control input of a hand of an occupant (2) a vehicle.
