The vehicle-bound acoustic device has microphones, anemometers, wind direction blades, an evaluation unit, sound filters, amplifiers and loudspeakers by which the significant vehicle noise is guided into the hazard area during reversing the vehicle. The intensity of the significant vehicle noise is automatically regulated to defined level in the hazard area. The intensity of the significant vehicle noise is regulated depending on the driving speed. A frequency filtering of significant vehicle noise takes place to optimize the audibility of certain hearing impairments of people. An interface is provided for existing warning systems or hearing aids.
