The frother (1) has a beam heating element provided in a base (3). The base is designed as a window (7) for passage of thermal radiation generated from the heating element to a container (2) that retains foamed milk. A magnetic coupling comprises a driving-side coupling element and another coupling element (10) that is connected with a foaming element (8). The coupling elements comprise magnets that are equally oriented in a space. The magnets are aligned vertical to each other and one above the other at a distance in an operating mode such that magnetic fields act in vertical direction. The window is formed as a recess or a disk that is made of glasses, glass ceramic or plastic. The magnets are designed as bar magnets, and the coupling elements are designed as circular disks.
